When visiting UNRWA health care clinics, you
cannot help but notice the vast number of refugees and multiple
family members in clinic waiting rooms often for extended
periods of time. UNRWA caregivers, in particular physicians,
often see over 150 patients per doctor per day. There is a
great need to assist clinic staff in educating patients on
basic health care information such as diabetes, cardiac disease,
high blood pressure, etc.
Current targeted health programs include:
Vitamin A Supplement Program:
The vitamin A supplement program is aimed
to provide nursing mothers, infants, and school children
with this vital health supplement.
Dental Clinics:
Mobile dental clinics will provide
comprehensive promotive and restorative dental care to
260,000 Palestine refugee school children enrolled in UNRWA
schools in the West Bank and Gaza.
